Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 You shall know. 3 Again, yes certainly, you will soon realise! 4 Nay, if you could but understand [it] with an understanding [born] of certainty, 5 You have indeed to behold Hell; 6 Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned regarding the favours. 8
