Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

The craving for excess wealth kept you people neglectful. 1 Until you visit the graveyards. 2 You shall know. 3 Again, Nay! You shall come to know! 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 that you shall surely see Hell? 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 Then, on that Day, ye shall surely be asked of the delights. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
