Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 Till you reach the grave. 2 Nay, in time you will come to understand! 3 You shall cetainly know (about the consequences of your deeds). 4 No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty... 5 you would see the fire of Hell. 6 Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then, on that day, ye will be asked concerning pleasure. 8

God the Almighty always says the truth.
