Al-Takaathur
Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Abundance diverts you, 1 until you come to the graves. 2 You shall know. 3 But you will soon come to know. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 you would see the fire of Hell. 6 Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. 7 and on that Day you will most surely be called to account for [what you did with] the boon of life! 8
True are the words of God the Almighty.
