The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 Who has gathered wealth and counted it, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what have you understood what the Crushing One is! 5 The Fire of God kindled 6 Which leaps up over the hearts, 7 it closes in on them from every side 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9
