The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 who has gathered riches and counted them over 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 Never! He will certainly be thrown into the Crushing One. 4 And what can make you know what is the Crusher? 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 Reaching right into the hearts of men, 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In columns outstretched. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
