The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever! 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 What shall let you know what the Crusher is? 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 Which rises above the hearts. 7 Indeed it will be shut over them. 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
