Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 It is a fierce fire created by God 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 Surely it shall be closed over upon them, 8 In extending columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
