Believers, do not consume usury, doubled and redoubled, and fear Allah, in order that you shall prosper. 130 and beware of the fire which awaits those who deny the truth! 131 And obey Allah and the Apostle, that you may be shown mercy. 132 ۞ And march forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2). 133 Who expend both in joy and tribulation, who suppress their anger and pardon their fellowmen; and God loves those who are upright and do good, 134 (Paradise) is also for those who, when committing a sin or doing injustice to themselves, remember God and ask Him to forgive their sins. Who can forgive sins besides God? And who do not knowingly persist in their mistakes? 135 Those, their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord and Gardens underneath which rivers flow, where they shall live for ever. How excellent is the wage of those who labor. 136 Indeed there have been examples before you; therefore travel in the earth and see what was the end of the rejecters. 137 This is a clear declaration for mankind, and a guidance and a warning for those who preserve themselves from evil. 138 So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers. 139 If ye have received a blow, the (disbelieving) people have received a blow the like thereof. These are (only) the vicissitudes which We cause to follow one another for mankind, to the end that Allah may know those who believe and may choose witnesses from among you; and Allah loveth not wrong-doers. 140 And that Allah may purge those who believe and destroy the infidels. 141 Did you think that you would enter Paradise even though Allah has not yet seen who among you strove hard in His way and remained steadfast? 142 For, indeed, you did long for death [in God's cause] before you came face to face with it; and now you have seen it with your own eyes! 143
