O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubled and multiplied; but fear Allah; that ye may (really) prosper. 130 Keep away from the Fire prepared for the infidels; 131 Obey God and the Messenger so that you may receive mercy. 132 ۞ And vie one with another for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who ward off (evil); 133 who spend in the way of Allah both in plenty and hardship, who restrain their anger, and forgive others. Allah loves such good-doers." 134 who, when they commit an indecency or wrong themselves, remember God, and pray forgiveness for their sins -- and who shall forgive sins but God? -- and do not persevere in the things they did and that wittingly. 135 Their recompense is pardon by their Lord, and gardens with streams of running water where they will abide for ever. How fair is the recompense of those who act! 136 Many similar ways (and mishaps of life) were faced by nations (believers and disbelievers) that have passed away before you (as you have faced in the battle of Uhud), so travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who disbelieved (in the Oneness of Allah, and disobeyed Him and His Messengers). 137 This is a clear declaration for mankind, and a guidance and a warning for those who preserve themselves from evil. 138 And do not become faint of heart, nor grieve, you will have the upper hand, if you are believers, 139 If a wound touches you, a like wound already has touched the heathen; such days We deal out in turn among men, and that God may know who are the believers, and that He may take witnesses from among you; and God loves not the evildoers; 140 so that God may purge those who believe and wipe out those who deny the truth. 141 Did you suppose that you would enter Paradise without Allah knowing those of you who struggled and who were patient? 142 And you used to wish for death before you met it; so now you see it before your eyes. 143
