Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 Of no avail shall be his wealth, nor what he has acquired. 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 along with his wife, that carrier of slanderous tales; 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
