A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 [This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. 3 How many a city We have destroyed! Our might came upon it at night, or while they took their ease in the noontide, 4 Yet their cry, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: Surely we were unjust. 5 So We shall question those unto whom a Message was sent, and We shall question the Envoys, 6 And verily, We shall recount their whole story with knowledge, for We were never absent (at any time or place). 7 And the measuring out on that day will be just; then as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is heavy, those are they who shall be successful; 8 As for those whose bad deeds weigh heavier, they will lose their souls for their injustice to Our revelations. 9 And assuredly We established you in the earth and appointed for you livelihoods therein; yet little thanks ye return. 10
