And to Samood (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; clear proof indeed has come to you from your Lord; this is (as) Allah's she-camel for you-- a sign, therefore leave her alone to pasture on Allah's earth, and do not touch her with any harm, otherwise painful chastisement will overtake you. 73 Remember, how you were made leaders after the people of 'Ad, and were settled on the land so that you could construct on the plains palaces, and carve dwellings out of mountains. So think of the favours of God, and do not act with corruption in the land." 74 The leaders of those who were arrogant among his people said to those who were counted weak - to such of them as believed: "Know you that Salih (Saleh) is one sent from his Lord." They said: "We indeed believe in that with which he has been sent." 75 Those who were haughty said: Surely we are deniers of what you believe in. 76 (Then) they hamstrung the shecamel and defied the order of their Lord, saying to Salih: 'Bring down that which you have promised us if you truly are one of the Messengers' 77 So the earthquake seized them, and they lay (dead), prostrate in their homes. 78 So he turned his back on them, and said, 'O my people, I have delivered to you the Message of my Lord, and advised you sincerely; but you do not love sincere advisers.' 79 And We sent Lut – when he said to his people, “What! You commit the shameful acts which no one in the creation has ever done before you?” 80 “You lustfully go towards men, instead of women! In fact, you have transgressed the limits.” 81 But his people's only answer was this: "Expel them from your land! Verily, they are folk who make themselves out to be pure!" 82 So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who remained [with the evildoers]. 83 And We rained a rain upon them. See now the nature of the consequence of evil-doers! 84
