Al-A 'araaf 10 of 24
And to Thamood their brother Salih; he said, 'O my people, serve God! You have no god other than He; there has now come to you a clear sign from your Lord -- this is the She-camel of God, to be a sign for you. Leave her that she may eat in God's earth, and do not touch her with evil, lest you be seized by a painful chastisement. 73 "And remember when He made you successors after 'Ad (people) and gave you habitations in the land, you build for yourselves palaces in plains, and carve out homes in the mountains. So remember the graces (bestowed upon you) from Allah, and do not go about making mischief on the earth." 74 Said the eminent ones who were arrogant among his people to those who were oppressed - to those who believed among them, "Do you [actually] know that Salih is sent from his Lord?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which he was sent, are believers." 75 Those who were proud said: 'We disbelieve in that which you believed in' 76 So they hamstrung the she-camel and rebelled against the command of their Lord and said, “O Saleh! Bring upon us what you promise us, if you are a Noble Messenger.” 77 So the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone. 78 And Salih left them, saying: 'O my people! I conveyed to you the message of my Lord and gave you good advice; but you have no liking for your well-wishers.' 79 And Lot, when he said to his people, 'What, do you commit such indecency as never any being in all the world committed before you? 80 Verily ye go in lustfully unto men instead of women! Aye! ye are a people extravagant. 81 And the answer of his people was only that they said (one to another): Turn them out of your township. They are folk, forsooth, who keep pure. 82 And We rescued him and his household, save his wife, who was of those who stayed behind. 83 the while We rained a rain [of destruction] upon the others: and behold what happened in the end to those people lost in sin! 84

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
