We sent no Prophet to a village but seized its inhabitants with misfortune and adversity in order that they might be humble in supplication. 94 Then We changed their suffering into prosperity, until they grew and multiplied, and began to say: "Our fathers (too) were touched by suffering and affluence"... Behold! We called them to account of a sudden, while they realised not (their peril). 95 And if the people of the towns had believed and had the Taqwa (piety), certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they belied (the Messengers). So We took them (with punishment) for what they used to earn (polytheism and crimes, etc.). 96 Are the people of the region so secure that they lie asleep unaware as Our punishment overtakes them? 97 or that which could seize them during their busy hours of the day? 98 Are they then secure from Allah's scheme? None deemeth himself secure from Allah's scheme save folk that perish. 99
