The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, 8 And rejects the best, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And his substance will avail him not when he perisheth. 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 They do not expect any reward 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
