Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24
Whenever We sent a prophet to a town, We took up its people in suffering and adversity, in order that they might learn humility. 94 then We gave them in the place of evil good, till they multiplied, and said, 'Hardship and happiness visited our fathers.' So We seized them suddenly, unawares. 95 And if the people of the towns had believed and guarded (against evil) We would certainly have opened up for them blessings from the heaven and the earth, but they rejected, so We overtook them for what they had earned. 96 Did the people of the towns then feel secure against the coming of Our Punishment by night while they are asleep? 97 Or did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them in the morning while they were at play? 98 Are then they secure against the contrivance of Allah? And none feeleth secure against the contrivance of Allah except the people who are losers. 99
