Has it not become clear to those who inherited the earth after its [previous] people that if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins? But We seal over their hearts so they do not hear. 100 Such were the towns whose story We (thus) relate unto thee: There came indeed to them their messengers with clear (signs): But they would not believe what they had rejected before. Thus doth Allah seal up the hearts of those who reject faith. 101 And We did not find for most of them any covenant; but indeed, We found most of them defiantly disobedient. 102 AND AFTER those [early people] We sent Moses with Our messages unto Pharaoh and his great ones, and they wilfully rejected them: and behold what happened in the end to those spreaders of corruption! 103 Moses told the Pharaoh, "I am a Messengers from the Lord of the Universe. 104 I must only speak what is true about God. I have brought you miracles from your Lord; therefore, let the children of Israel go free". 105 He said: if thou hast brought a sign, forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 106 So he cast his staff; and behold, it was a serpent manifest. 107 And he drew forth his hand (from his bosom), and lo! it was white for the beholders. 108
