Is it not a lesson for the successors of the past generations that had We wanted, We could have punished them for their sins, sealed their hearts and deprived them of hearing? 100 These towns-- We relate to you some of their stories, and certainly their apostles came to them with clear arguments, but they would not believe in what they rejected at first; thus does Allah set a seal over the hearts of the unbelievers 101 We did not find the covenant upheld by the majority of them, but We found most of them evildoers. 102 After those We sent forth Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his assembly, but with it they harmed. Look at the end of the corrupters. 103 Moses told the Pharaoh, "I am a Messengers from the Lord of the Universe. 104 And it behoves me to say nothing about Allah except what is true. I have come to you with a clear sign of having been sent from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me.' 105 [Pharaoh] said, "If you have come with a sign, then bring it forth, if you should be of the truthful." 106 Therefore Moosa put down his staff – it immediately turned into a visible python. 107 And he drew forth his hand (from his bosom), and lo! it was white for the beholders. 108
