Al-A 'araaf 14 of 24
Said the Chiefs of the people of Pharaoh: "This is indeed a sorcerer well-versed. 109 "His plan is to get you out of your land: then what is it ye counsel?" 110 Then they advised Pharaoh: 'Put off Moses and his brother for a while, and send forth heralds to your cities 111 "That they bring up to you all well-versed sorcerers." 112 And the magicians came to Pharaoh and asked, "Shall we have a reward, if we should prevail?" 113 Pharaoh replied: 'Certainly, and you shall be among those who are near to me.' 114 They said: O Musa! either thou cast down, or we shall be the ones to cast down. 115 'Throw' he replied. And when they threw, they bewitched the people's eyes and terrified them, and produced great sorcery. 116 We put it into Moses's mind by inspiration: "Throw (now) thy rod": and behold! it swallows up straight away all the falsehoods which they fake! 117 ۞ Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect. 118 Thus were they there defeated and brought low. 119 And the enchanters were thrown down, prostrating (themselves). 120 They said: we believe in the Lord of the worlds. 121 “The Lord of Moosa and Haroon.” 122 Pharaoh said: Ye believe in Him before I give you leave! Lo! this is the plot that ye have plotted in the city that ye may drive its people hence. But ye shall come to know! 123 Surely I will cut off your hands and feet on the opposite sides and thereafter I will crucify you all. 124 They said, "Indeed, to our Lord we will return. 125 for thou takest vengeance on us only because we have come to believe in our Sustainer's messages as soon as they came to us. O our Sustainer! Shower us with patience in adversity, and make us die as men who have surrendered themselves unto Thee!" 126

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
