Al-A 'araaf 16 of 24
We afflicted Pharaoh's people with shortages of food and famine so that they might take heed, 130 But whenever good came to them, they said: "Ours is this." And if evil afflicted them, they ascribed it to evil omens connected with Musa (Moses) and those with him. Be informed! Verily, their evil omens are with Allah but most of them know not. 131 They said: "Whatsoever the sign you have brought to deceive us, we shall not believe in you." 132 So We sent against them the flood and the locusts and the vermin and the frogs and the blood - a succession of clear signs. But they were arrogant and became a guilty folk. 133 And when the punishment fell on them they said: "O Musa (Moses)! Invoke your Lord for us because of His Promise to you. If you will remove the punishment from us, we indeed shall believe in you, and we shall let the Children of Israel go with you." 134 But whenever We removed the plague from them, giving them time to make good their promise, lo, they would break their word. 135 So We exacted retribution from them and drowned them in the sea, because they rejected Our signs and paid no heed to them; 136 And We caused the people who had been oppressed to inherit the eastern regions of the land and the western ones, which We had blessed. And the good word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of what they had patiently endured. And We destroyed [all] that Pharaoh and his people were producing and what they had been building. 137 And We led the Children of Isra'il across the sea. Then they came upon a people cleaving to the idols they had. They said: Musa! make for us a god even as they have gods. He said: verily ye are a people given to ignorance. 138 “The condition they are in is, in fact, one of destruction – and all what they do is utter falsehood.” 139 He said, "Is it other than Allah I should desire for you as a god while He has preferred you over the worlds?" 140 And [recall, O Children of Israel], when We saved you from the people of Pharaoh, [who were] afflicting you with the worst torment - killing your sons and keeping your women alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord. 141

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
