O believers, obey God and His Messenger, and do not turn away from Him, even as you are listening; 20 And do not be like those who say: 'We hear', though they do not hearken. 21 ۞ Surely the worst of beasts in God's sight are those that are deaf and dumb and do not understand. 22 If God had known of any good in them He would have made them hear; and if He had made them hear, they would have turned away, swerving aside. 23 O you who believe! answer (the call of) Allah and His Apostle when he calls you to that which gives you life; and know that Allah intervenes between man and his heart, and that to Him you shall be gathered. 24 And fear the turmoil which will certainly not fall only upon a few selected unjust people among you; and know that Allah’s punishment is severe. 25 And remember, when ye were few and reckoned feeble in the land, and were in fear lest men should extirpate you, how He gave you refuge, and strengthened you with His help, and made provision of good things for you, that haply ye might be thankful. 26 O you who believe, do not be faithless to God and His Apostle, nor violate your trusts knowingly. 27 And know ye that your possessions and your progeny are but a trial; and that it is Allah with Whom lies your highest reward. 28
