In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
ALIF LAM RA. These are the verses of the immaculate Book. 1 Verily We! We have sent it down, an Arabic Recitation, that haply ye may reflect. 2 We relate to you the best narrative because We have sent the divine revelation of this Qur’an, to you; although surely you were unaware before this. 3 Call to mind when Joseph said to his father: "My father! I saw (in a dream) eleven stars and the sun and the moon: I saw them prostrating themselves before me." 4 [Jacob] replied: "O my dear son! Do not relate thy dream to thy brothers lest [out of envy] they devise an evil scheme against thee; verily, Satan is man's open foe! 5 And thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of sayings and make His favor complete to you and to the children of Yaqoub, as He made it complete before to your fathers, Ibrahim and Ishaq; surely your Lord is Knowing, Wise. 6
