The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This is the Book of Allah: there is no doubt about it. It is guidance to Godfearing people, 2 who believe in the unseen, and are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided them with; 3 And who believe in (the Quran and the Sunnah) which has been sent down (revealed) to you (Muhammad Peace be upon him) and in [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), etc.] which were sent down before you and they believe with certainty in the Hereafter. (Resurrection, recompense of their good and bad deeds, Paradise and Hell, etc.). 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord; and they are the successful. 5 As for those who are bent on denying the truth, it makes no difference to them whether you warn them or not, they will not believe. 6 God has sealed their hearts and ears, and veiled their eyes. For them is great deprivation. 7
