The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Ra'. These are the verses of the Book, and a Clear Qur'an. 1 And it will come to pass that those who are [now] bent on denying this truth will wish that they had surrendered themselves to God [in their life time]. 2 Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know. 3 And every dwelling that We destroyed, had a known decree for it. 4 No nation can outstrip its term nor can they lag behind. 5 And they say: O you to whom the Reminder has been revealed! you are most surely insane: 6 If you are a man of truth, why can't you bring the angels to us?" 7 We do not send angels except with the truth. Then they shall have no respite. 8 We have sent down this Exposition, and We will guard it. 9 We have sent forth before you Messengers among the factions of the ancients. 10 and never yet came an apostle to them without their deriding him. 11 So We make it enter the hearts of the sinners. 12 they do not believe in it. This has been the wont of people of this kind from ancient times. 13 Even if We open a door in the heavens and they ascend through it in broad daylight, 14 They would say: Our sight is wrong - nay, but we are folk bewitched. 15
