Surely We created man of a clay of mud moulded, 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud. 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 All the angels prostrated themselves, 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 God asked Iblis, "What made you not join the others in prostration?" 32 He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered! 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 Upon thee shall rest the curse, till the Day of Doom.' 35 Iblis prayed, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Judgment". 36 He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 Save such of them as are Thy perfectly devoted slaves. 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 Verily as for My bondmen, no authority shalt thou have over them, except the erring one who follow thee. 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
