The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
