AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 When your Lord said to the angels, "I will create the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay. 28 "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." 29 All the angels prostrated before Adam 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 33 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. 34 And verily on thee shall be the curse till the Day of Requital. 35 Iblis prayed, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Judgment". 36 The Lord said, "Your request is granted 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 God said, "This is the path which leads straight to Me. 41 Over My true servants you will be able to exercise no power, your power will be confined to the erring ones, those who choose to follow you. 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates; for each gate is a portion assigned from them. 44
