He said, "We feel afraid of you!" 52 They said: "Do not feel afraid, for we give you the good news of a wise boy." 53 He said, “Do you convey to me the glad tidings upon old age reaching me? So upon what do you convey glad tidings?” (* Prophet Ibrahim said this out of surprise.) 54 They said, "We have given you good tidings in truth, so do not be of the despairing." 55 "Who would despair of the mercy of his Lord," he answered, "but those who go astray." 56 And asked them: "What matter, O angels, brings you here?" 57 They answered: "We are sent to people lost in sin [who are to be destroyed,] 58 Except for Lot's household, all of whom we shall rescue, 59 except his wife who is doomed to be left behind." 60
