So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said, "You seem to be strangers". 62 'No' they replied: 'We bring you (news) of that concerning which they were doubting. 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them – and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 In the meantime the people of the city came to Lot rejoicing. 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 By your life! they were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 We afflicted them with punishment. Both people had clear (divine) authority among them. 79
