The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. 86 And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 who have broken the Koran into parts, 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 Of what they used to do. 93 Hence, proclaim openly all that thou hast been bidden [to say,] and leave alone all those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 those who set up another deity alongside Allah. They shall soon come to know. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
