AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 But they were seized by the mighty blast towards the morning; 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 (Muhammad), We have given you the seven most repeated (verses) and the great Quran. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. 94 We suffice you against those who mock, 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
