Al-nahl 7 of 16
۞ Allah has commanded: "Do not take two gods; for He is but One God. So fear Me alone." 51 Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth, and religion is His for ever. Will ye then fear any other than Allah? 52 And whatsoever of favour is with you is from Allah; then when distress toucheth you, unto Him ye cry out. 53 Yet when He removes the evil from you, lo! a party of you associate others with their Lord; 54 (As if) to show their ingratitude for the favours we have bestowed on them! then enjoy (your brief day): but soon will ye know (your folly)! 55 And they appoint for that which they knew not a portion of that wherewith We have provided them. By Allah! ye will surely be questioned regarding that which ye have been fabricating. 56 And they assign daughters for Allah! - Glory be to Him! - and for themselves (sons,- the issue) they desire! 57 And when a daughter is announced to one of them his face becomes black and he is full of wrath. 58 Because of the evil of the good news he hides himself from people, (pondering) whether he will keep her and be humiliated, or trample her into the dust. Evil is their judgement! 59 The semblance of those who believe not in the life to come is that of the meanest; but the semblance of God is the most sublime, for He is all-mighty and all-wise. 60
