۞ And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. 23 And lower to them the wing of humbleness out of mercy and say: 'My Lord, be merciful to them, as they raised me since I was little' 24 Your Lord is the Best Knower of that which is in your souls; if ye have been righteous, then He is unto thee Oftreturning, Forgiving. 25 Give the relatives, the destitute and those who when on a journey have become needy, their dues. 26 for the wasteful are the brothers of satan; and satan is ungrateful to his Lord. 27 And if thou [must] turn aside from those [that are in want, because thou thyself art] seeking to obtain thy Sustainer's grace and hoping for it, at least speak unto them with gentle speech. 28 And let not thine hand be chained to thy neck, nor stretch it forth to the utmost stretching, lest thou sit down reproached, impoverished. 29 Surely your Lord makes plentiful the means of subsistence for whom He pleases and He straitens (them); surely He is ever Aware of, Seeing, His servants. 30
