And they ask you about the soul. Say: The soul is one of the commands of my Lord, and you are not given aught of knowledge but a little. 85 And if We willed We could surely take away that which We have revealed to you by inspiration (i.e. this Quran). Then you would find no protector for you against Us in that respect. 86 except for Mercy from your Lord; for His favor to you is great indeed. 87 Say: 'If men and jinn banded together to produce the like of this Koran, they would never produce its like, not though they backed one another.' 88 And verily We have displayed for mankind in this Qur'an all kind of similitudes, but most of mankind refuse aught save disbelief. 89 And they say: we shall by no means believe in thee until thou causest for us to gush forth from the earth a fountain. 90 or, until you own a garden of palms and vines and cause rivers to gush forth with abundant water in them; 91 or cause the sky to fall on us in pieces as you claimed, or bring Allah and the angels before us, face to face; 92 Or thou have a house of gold; or thou ascend up into heaven, and even then we will put no faith in thine ascension till thou bring down for us a book that we can read. Say (O Muhammad): My Lord be Glorified! Am I aught save a mortal messenger? 93
