The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
(All) praise is due to Allah, Who revealed the Book to His servant and did not make in it any crookedness. 1 unswerving. To warn of great violence from Him, and to give good tidings to the believers who do good deeds that theirs shall be a goodly wage 2 Wherein they shall remain for ever: 3 And to warn those who say: Allah hath chosen a son, 4 They have no knowledge of it, nor had their fathers. Grave is the word that comes out of their mouths; they speak not except a lie. 5 Possibly you may risk your life by grieving (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) for them if they do not believe in this narration. 6 We have appointed all that is on the earth an adornment for it, in order that We try which of them is finest in works. 7 For We shall certainly turn it to barren dust. 8 Or have you thought that the companions of the cave and the inscription were, among Our signs, a wonder? 9 When those youths sought refuge in the Cave and said: "Our Lord! Grant us mercy from Yourself and provide for us rectitude in our affairs." 10 So We prevented them from hearing in the cave for a number of years. 11 Then We awakened them that We might show which of the two factions was most precise in calculating what [extent] they had remained in time. 12
