Hizb 46
< random >
So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 we are the rangers, 165 we are they that give glory. 166 They used to say: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
