The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
