In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Kaf Ha Ya Ain Sad 1 Commemorate the beneficence of your Lord on Zachariah, His devotee, 2 Behold! he cried to his Lord in secret, 3 He said: My Lord! surely my bones are weakened and my head flares with hoariness, and, my Lord! I have never been unsuccessful in my prayer to Thee: 4 "Now I fear (what) my relatives (and colleagues) (will do) after me: but my wife is barren: so give me an heir as from Thyself,- 5 who will be my heir and the heir of the family of Jacob. Lord, make him a person who will please you". 6 We answered his prayers with the glad news of the birth of a son by the name of John and told him, "We have never given such a name to anyone else." 7 He said, "My Lord, how will I have a boy when my wife has been barren and I have reached extreme old age?" 8 Answered [the angel]: "Thus it is; [but] thy Sustainer says, 'This is easy for Me - even as I have created thee aforetime out of nothing'". 9 He said: My Lord! give me a sign. He said: Your sign is that you will not be able to speak to the people three nights while in sound health. 10 So Zakariya came out to his people from him chamber: He told them by signs to celebrate Allah's praises in the morning and in the evening. 11 'O John, take the Book forcefully'; and We gave him judgment, yet a little child, 12 And compassion from Our presence, and purity; and he was devout, 13 And dutiful towards his parents, and he was neither an arrogant nor disobedient (to Allah or to his parents). 14 So Peace on him the day he was born the day that he dies and the day that he will be raised up to life (again)! 15
