Mention in the Book Abraham; He was truthful and a Prophet. 41 When he said to his father: "O my father! Why do you worship that which hears not, sees not and cannot avail you in anything? 42 Father, a knowledge that has not reached you has come to me. So follow me that I may guide you to a Straight Way. 43 Father, do not worship satan; for satan has rebelled against the Merciful. 44 O my father, I fear lest a punishment from Ar-Rahman should befall you, and you should become a friend of the Devil." 45 (The father) replied: "Dost thou hate my gods, O Abraham? If thou forbear not, I will indeed stone thee: Now get away from me for a good long while!" 46 Abraham replied, "Peace be on you: I will pray to my Lord for your forgiveness, He has indeed been gracious to me, 47 Now I will go apart from you and that you call upon, apart from God; I will call upon my Lord, and haply I shall not be, in calling upon my Lord, unprosperous. 48 When he had turned away from them and from those whom they worshipped besides Allah, We bestowed on him Isaac and Jacob, and each one of them We made a prophet. 49 And We bestowed on them of Our mercy, and We made for them a renown lofty. 50
