The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WOE UNTO THOSE who give short measure: 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 But if they measure unto them or weight for them, they cause them loss. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 for a great Day, 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Those who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 It is a written book, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 On couches face to face. 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, “Indeed they have gone astray.” 32 But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
