Moses said, "My Lord! open up my heart, 25 And ease for me my task 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 so that they may understand my speech, 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen me through him, 31 and let him share my task, 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 And remember Thee oft. 34 Surely You know us well." 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 when We inspired thy mother with this inspiration: 38 [Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye. 39 Your sister went (to them) and said: 'Shall I guide you to one who will nurse him' And so We restored you to your mother, so that her eyes might rejoice and that she might not sorrow. And when you killed a soul We saved you from grief and then We tried you with many trials. You stayed among the people of Midian for a number of years, and then, Moses, you came here according to a decree. 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 "Go, both of you, to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience and behaved as an arrogant and as a tyrant). 43 But speak unto him in a mild manner, so that he might bethink himself or [at least] be filled with apprehension. 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 He said: Fear not, surely I am with you both: I do hear and see. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 Verily we! it hath been revealed unto us that the torment will be for him who belieth and turneth away. 48 He asked: "Who then is that Lord of yours, O Moses?" 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 He (Pharaoh) asked: 'How was it then, with the former generations' 51 Moses said: "Its knowledge is with my Lord, recorded in the Book. My Lord does not err, nor does He forget." 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 To eat and feed your cattle. Surely there are signs in these for those who are wise. 54
