(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 "And give me a Minister from my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 “Back me up with him.” 31 and let him share my task, 32 so that we may glorify 33 And remember You much. 34 Surely, Thou art seeing us. 35 He said: "Moses, your petition is granted. 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 When We inspired unto thy mother that which We inspired, 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has become insolent. 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress." 45 'Fear not,' said He. 'Surely I shall be with you, hearing and seeing. 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 He said: then what happened to the former generations? 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 so eat and graze your cattle. In this there are signs for men of understanding. 54
