The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The people’s reckoning is near, whereas they are in neglect, turned away! 1 There cometh not unto them a fresh admonition from their Lord but they listen to it while they are playing. 2 their hearts being set on other concerns. The wrong-doers whisper to one another: "This person is no more than a mortal like yourselves. Will you, then, be enchanted by sorcery while you see?" 3 Say: "My Sustainer knows whatever is spoken in heaven and on earth; and He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing." 4 Nay, they say:"These (revelations of the Quran which are inspired to Muhammad SAW) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented it! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayah (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) that were sent before (with signs)!" 5 Of the villages We destroyed, there was not one that believed. What, will they not believe? 6 And We sent none before thee, but men to whom We made revelation -- question the People of the Remembrance, if you do not know -- 7 And We did not create them without bodies so they would not eat food – nor that they abide on earth forever. 8 Our promise to them came true and We saved them and those whom We wanted, but destroyed the unjust people. 9 We have revealed a Book to you which is admonition for you. Will you not then understand? 10
