The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ There hath approached unto mankind their reckoning, while they in neglect are turning away. 1 Never comes (aught) to them of a renewed Message from their Lord, but they listen to it as in jest,- 2 diverted their hearts. The evildoers whisper one to another, 'Is this aught but a mortal like to yourselves? What, will you take to sorcery with your eyes open?' 3 He said: "My Lord knows whatever is spoken in the heavens and the earth. He hears all and knows everything." 4 Aye! they say: a medley of dreams; aye! he hath fabricated it; aye! he is a poet; so let him bring us a sign even as the ancients were sent with. 5 There is not a township before them which did not believe which We have not destroyed; so will they believe? 6 And We sent not (as Our messengers) before thee other than men, whom We inspired. Ask the followers of the Reminder if ye know not? 7 And We did not create them (the Messengers, with) bodies that ate not food, nor were they immortals, 8 In the end We fulfilled to them Our Promise, and We saved them and those whom We pleased, but We destroyed those who transgressed beyond bounds. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
