The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 who are humble in their prayers; 2 who avoid impious talks, 3 And who pay the (obligatory) charity. 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
