The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But whoever seeks to go beyond that, these are they that exceed the limits; 7 those who are true to their trust, 8 and who observe their prayers. 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
