S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Koran, containing the Remembrance -- 1 But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 And they marvel that a warner from among themselves hath come unto them, and the disbelievers say: This is a wizard, a charlatan. 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a marvellous thing.' 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 We heard not thereof in the later faith; this is naught but an invention. 7 Was the message sent only to him out of all of us?" In fact, they doubt My warning; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 The army is defeated as (were) the confederates. 11 The folk of Noah before them denied (their messenger) and (so did the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh firmly planted, 12 And the Thamud, the people of Lot, as well as the dwellers of the Wood, had denied. These were the hordes. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
