The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 Those are the heirs 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are borne. 22
