The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 And those who pay the Zakat. 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 And We sent down from the heaven water in measure, and We caused it to settle in the earth; and verily to take it away We are Able. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
